Dr Sadanand Chitre

I am a Consultant Anaesthetist at Whipps Cross University Hospital, part of Barts Health NHS Trust since January 2005.
My special interests include:
- Regional anaesthetic techniques for Orthopaedic anaesthesia
- Difficult Airway Management &Training
- Obstetric Anaesthesia
I routinely perform ultrasound guided regional anaesthetic techniques mainly for upper limb orthopaedic surgical procedures to provide effective post-operative pain relief. I have performed over 500 brachial plexus nerve blocks as part of my anaesthetic technique for shoulder surgery.
I have attended lectures & courses on the use of ultrasound for regional techniques to hone my skills in performance of these nerve blocks.
I am the Airway Lead & Obstetric Anaesthetic Lead at Whipps Cross University Hospital.
I also practice at the Spire Roding Hospital in Redbridge, Essex, Holly House Hospital in Buckhurst Hill, Essex and London Independent Hospital.
Dr Mubashar Zia
Having graduated from the University of Punjab in 1986, I moved to the UK and started my Anaesthetic training in Glasgow. I completed my MSc in Anaesthetics from the University of Glasgow in 1989 and moved to Dublin for further training. I moved back to Scotland in 1991 followed by Bristol in 1993 undertaking extensive training in regional Anaesthesia (local nerve blocks for upper and lower limb surgery). I completed my Fellowship in Anaesthesia (FFARCS) in 1994 and undertook further training in cardiac surgery in Leeds. I moved to various other countries from 1996 to 2003
providing me with opportunities to look after the Saudi Royal family and some other Head of States. I performed an open heart bypass operation under regional Anaesthesia (without general Anaesthesia) in 1999. This was the first time this procedure was ever performed and provided a huge leap in modern medicine. Currently, I am a consultant Anaesthetist at a teaching hospital in Essex and also practice at various other private Hospitals in the area.
For me personally, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing my patients wake up comfortably and I hope to use all my experience and knowledge in order to provide care of the highest possible standard.
